About Us

Founded in 1834, Galashiels Town Band is still active today. Affiliated with the Scottish Borders Brass Band Association and the Scottish Brass Band Association, we play at a number of events around the Borders throughout the year. The Braw Lads' Week and Christmas Eve Carol Service are just two of the highlights in our calendar.

In September 2009 the Band adopted a comprehensive development plan. Key points include setting up of a training band, acquisition of new uniforms and establishment of new events to raise the Band's profile both in the town and surrounding area .

We rehearse every Tuesday night from 7-9pm in the Band Hall at 6a, Roxburgh Street (behind the Volunteer's 'Bridge' Office). We are always looking for new members and welcome players of any standard.

The band is currently funded by fees from engagements and donations . Instruction, membership and loan of instruments are all free..... so come along and have a try!
